We all get stuck in patterns of disconnection, emotional avoidance, or cycles of behavior that hinder our relationship to God, others, and ourselves. In the middle of one’s pain there is a path to healing where relationships can be restored, lives changed, and one can embrace new life meaning and purpose.
Originally a middle school art teacher for 13 years, I received my mental health counseling degree from Nyack Christian college in 2015 making this my second career. I have over 20 years of experience as a lay counselor and leader (within the New York City Church of Christ) and now 10 years of active clinical experience working with individuals and couples. I have seen many lives change as people embrace the processes of change and engage in treatment. I have level 2 training in Gottman Method couples counseling, am a certified Prepare and Enrich provider, and trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have experience in working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, and stress-related disorders. I have conducted numerous workshops providing mental health skills, marriage enrichment workshops, psychoeducation and produce various online resources.
Life is challenging and I am committed to being a resource in your healing journey. No one can guarantee outcomes but if you can trust the process, there is a path to healing that I have seen transform dozens of lives.
I am fully licensed in Texas and New York State. Currently, I am a member of the Greater Houston Church and serve with my wife in shepherding newly married couples as well as providing premarital classes. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science. I have been married since 1990 and have two children.
